Etymologists say that the word idiot comes from the ancient Greek word idios, which basically meant "alone" or "private".
In the culture of Ancient Athens, an idiot was someone who had no knowledge of public affairs and state affairs. In this sense, an idiot was essentially an ignoramus, compared to the other citizens.
The word idiots soon came to be used to referto who were ignorant of the daily affairs of the city, and to those who were considered too ignorant to pass judgment on public affairs. And from there *idiots as a concept started to emerge.
The origin of the word idiot comes from two concepts of the Albanian language which are
1) di/know
2) jo/no
The etymologists do not know the origin of the word idiot.
*ldios
idio>>idio>id io>i di jo>/ does not know
So, the origin of this word is the Albanian language and Idiotes is created essentially as the latin word ignorant was formed.
