"What does it mean to meditate?",
Meditate on the root of the Albanian language word "ME DIT", which in the Albanian language has the double meaning of learning and acquiring knowledge. Me dit/to know.
From the root of the word, we can already find, obviously, the meaning of meditation. When we want to know about something we must learn about it and evaluate based on the knowledge meter we have in hand, to determine our judgment. So, precisely, "acquiring knowledge" is meditation.
How many times have we said "I don't know!" why have we "said" something too quickly, without known and indictable. If you had "known", perhaps, you would have realized which words you had not weighed properly.
As a result of our "knowledge" we define our reality: our choices, decisions, behaviors, actions, opportunities, beliefs, values, tastes, relationships with people.
Therefore, meditating means daily I get knowledge, after geting knowledge and again geting knowledge in the maditating process we will be in a position to be prudent in our actions, behaviors, determinations and choices.
"Me dit" is very important for a person. Many people are not measured in their actions, behaviors, determinations and choices are actually driven by the opposite, by the ignorance. Therefore, with me-dit-im we get that knowledge that will lead us right in life.
Meditation, however, does not serve "only" to orientate in life. Going back to the first origin of the word "me dit" we have arrived at the Albanian words "dit/day and drit/light".
Looking into the meanings of the concept of day from the meanings of its parent words we find "see in the light, in the day".
Seeing in the light has created an image of it within us, an image which, precisely, is a knowledge, a "mirror knowledge of what we have seen in the light" that "returns to us a reflection of light" that allows us to see the source her and without her review.
What does that light show? All knowledge originates from the light source that gave rise to that knowledge reflection, that "knowledge" which only those who "are in the light" can understand what it reflects.
Like a mirror, meditation allows us to see ourselves in the light, to know about ourselves, to understand how we were created and who we really are.
The main purpose of Meditation is "Me dit/to know".
