Lamtumirë Irene Leleku!

Sot u nda nga jeta Irene Leleku (Pappas), aktorja me origjinë shqiptare e cila nuk lulëzoi vetem në Greqi, por u bë e njohur në mbarë botën.

E lindur më 3 shtator 1926 në Chiliomodi të Korinthit, ajo kishte mbiemrin shqiptar të babait të saj, Leleku.

"Nuk mund të largohem nga kjo botë, dhe të mos them të vërtetën qe jam shqiptare! Kur linda në vitin 1926, mbiemri im ishte Irene Leleku" - ishte deklarata e fortë e aktores 6 vite më parë që tronditi grekët, të cilët e njihnin atë si aktore me origjinë helene.

Origjina shqiptare e aktores së njohur është diskutuar shpesh, sidomos nga biografët grekë, te cilët nuk e pranojne këte të vërtete para publikut grek ne Greqi.

Gjatë xhirimeve të filmit legjendar “Odisea” në vitin 1968, gjatë pushimeve, dy aktorët Irene dhe Bekim Fehmiu po flisnin në një gjuhë që nuk kuptohej nga askush tjetër nga grupi i xhirimit.

Nga kurioziteti, nje gazetar pjestar i grupit pyet:

-"Më falni, por çfarë gjuhe po flisni"?

Irena i prek dorën Bekim Fehmiut për ta lënë ate të përgjigjet:

-“Është gjuha e nënës”!

"Gjuha amtare? Dhe cila mund të jetë ajo gjuhë amtare kur ju jeni greke dhe Bekim Fehmiu eshte jugosllav"? – pyeti gazetari.

-"Unë jam shqiptare nga Greqia, ndërsa Bekimi eshte shqiptar nga Jugosllavia, por më e rëndësishmja është se ishte vullneti i vetë Zotit që ne të dy të luajmë këto dy role sepse dikur edhe Penelopa dhe Odiseu flisnin të njëjtën gjuhë që unë dhe Bekimi po flasim sot”.
