I find it hard to believe that such a dangerous geopolitical project is simply Edi Rama’s personal idea. Is it possible that foreign interests—Serbian or Russian—are behind it?
Creating a religious state entity inside Albania could serve to portray Albania internationally as a predominantly Muslim country, with potentially serious consequences for how Europe and the United States perceive and deal with Albanians in the future.
And one question must be answered: How can a prime minister propose a “state within a state” when Albania’s Constitution defines it as a unitary and indivisible state?
Albanians deserve answers. Who proposed this? Who benefits from it? And why should Albania accept it?
